Woot is the originator of One Day, One Deal. Every midnight (central) we launch an event: one sale that lives until it sells out, or the next midnight.

“Well, I came in here with my original thought: Congrats to the contenders (Congrats by the way!!) Given my newest time demand (vet school), I haven't been able to check in so frequently. Today, however, I made a little time to see/read up on some of my favorite people (that would be you guys, though we've never met). MAN, the quibbling has quantified in my absence! I've gone through the regrets thread, the newest derby thread, the last derby thread, and now this contender thread. What begins as critiquing often times molds into harshly delivered criticisms. My point is this: Critique, many of you are the best of the best. Listen, plenty of people are trying to help you. And, get some ice packs, as this is probably going to sting! AND, for that matter, this goes for critiquers and critiquees. Sure, it is sometimes saddening to hear what you thought was great needs a little help. This goes for the advice givers, though it might frustrate you, no one has to take your advice. EVER!! There is this robust mix of people working well through criticisms, people highly offended at criticism, and people offended you didn't listen to their criticism. To sum it up, try to: * get along * take advice * realize no one has to take your advice * be nicer, it won't hurt anyone * grasp that being in a 'pack' with your friends to conquest all of the Woot community, while forcing your opinion to be heard doesn't mean that it's right While much more horrendous, a whole nation was convinced once that Jewish people had no right to live as a result of pack mentality. THEN, throw in the people that just opted to stay out of it, it got even worse. I say this just to point out that it is OKAY to stand up/for people to stand up and say they don't agree with something (whether it is ethics or someone's attitude). This does not warrant juvenile attempts at being 'clever' and devising the zinger comment to get under someone's skin. It just doesn't. The truth is, no one should accept that they cannot improve. This is artistically, socially, and personally. Continuously defending your right to critique, while never thinking about why people keep saying you are being a jerk, and then conjuring a reason why you have said right, is just as bad as an artist that keeps defending his work without taking a moment to consider the advice he's given in hopes to improve it.”

“Well, I haven't been around too long, BUT My biggest regret is: O'Rlyeh I am a shirt.woot gifter (and I gift them a ton). I literally has a tupperware bin full of t-shirts that I found amazingly otterific, that I know I'll be able to give away given the right opportunity!! A good friend, I later found out, is a huge fan of cthulhu, and I thought of this shirt instantly!! I didn't buy it at the time because I (to be honest) have know real understanding of cthulhu, and I felt it a niche market, of sorts. Too late to buy on here, and I've yet to see it on teetrade. I keep hoping and check everyday! AND, I too would pay a staggering amount (and yes I love that person, but I love giving perfect gifts even more)! How can you go wrong with a Drak/CD collaboration, anyway? I should've jumped

“My goodness. This thread has slowly turned into a Megsck roast. I'm thinking it isn't the defense of Ramy that has her(him?) coming back, its of her(him)self. What could be a conversation about opposing viewpoints quickly turns sour once said conversation starts taking personal stabs. She(he) merely said what she believed, respected your right to oppose belief, and suddenly it has her(him) being questioned as to honesty as an artist? You can educate people on your opinion, you can defend your opinion, but you cannot force someone to take it. Can someone's stance on an argument change your opinion of them? Sure. Does that need to be publicly said in a forum? Not at all. If anything, take that stuff to private messaging. For me, it certainly detracts from the topic at hand (i.e., Ramy's honesty/validity as an artist) when I see someone's right to take a view that opposes many of this website earn them questionable morals as a result.”

“This is absolutely terrific!! When this first was around on Woot, I was so disappointed (as I know 3 guys that would certainly love to receive this shirt as a gift). Now, I get to finally give it to them! Congrats Spiritgreen!”
